Champagne in the Park 2012 Recap

The Friends of Penn Treaty Park had another successful Champagne in the Park fundraiser, sponsored by Core Management Services. A night of great food, music by the Sue Teears Band, drinks and beautiful weather benefited the work of the Friends of Penn Treaty Park.

The Friends presented the Chief Tamanend Award to Councilman Mark Squilla and the Shackamaxon Award to Win Akeley, a founder and past president of the group.

This year the Friends have had a large number of successful events that are made possible by the contributions of members and attendees at the Champagne in the Park.  The Friends have a full slate of full events, including a large clean-up and barbecue on September 22nd starting at 10am.  In October, the Friends will have an outdoor movie night on October 19th and the 3rd annual Halloween Hoedown and Pumpkin Patch.  As always, events are free to all attendees.  For more information about joining the Friends of Penn Treaty Park and the history and happenings at this waterfront treasure, visit
